Q:
How do your playoff brackets work?
Q:
So, if we have 3 divisions and 4 playoff teams, a team that wins one of the
divisions gets into the playoffs even if they have the 5th-best record in the
league?
Q:
We just started our playoffs and there is a new position in the dropdown list
called "Tie". What is that used for?
Q:
We would like to change the playoff start week but the setting is locked. Can it be done?
Q:
How do your playoff brackets work?
A: Using your league's configuration, the playoff
teams are seeded depending on their finish. If using Divisions, the Division
winners are given the top seeds based on their record. The remaining seeds are
given to the non-division winners with the best records. If using Playoff Byes,
those teams are given the first week of playoffs off. The teams are then
matched-up with the lowest seeded team matching up with the highest remaining
seed, the second lowest seed against the second highest remaining seed and so
on. Depending on how many rounds you have configured for your playoffs, teams
are reseeded after each round of the playoffs to make sure the highest seeded
team plays the lowest seeded team as mentioned earlier.
Q:
So, if we have 3 divisions and 4 playoff teams, a team that
wins one of the divisions get into the playoffs even if they have the 5th-best
record in the league?
A: That is correct. When using more than one
division, all division winners are considered the top teams, regardless of
record. So, it is possible that a team that does not win their division does
not make the playoffs even if they have a better record than another division
record. Fantasy football can very a cruel mistress at times.
Q:
We just started our playoffs and there is a new position in
the dropdown list called "Tie". What is that used for?
A: The "Tie" position is a designated Tie-breaker
position. In the playoffs, ties are not a possibility, so your Commissioner has
ranked a list of Tie-breakers. In that list is an option called "Tie Breaker
Bench Player". This is to be used on a bench player, not a starter. You
will need to check your League Settings to determine which tie-breaker level
this option is on. If your game ends in a tie and this option gets invoked, the
Tiebreaker player's points on your team will be compared to the Tiebreaker
Player's points on your opponent's team. If one total is greater than the
other, that team is declared the victor. If they are equal, then the next
tie-breaker level is processed.
Q:
We would like to change the playoff start week but the setting is locked.
Can it be done?
A: The setting locks after the season starts. So, this cannot be
changed after the season starts as the schedule for the regular season has already been generated
and the weeks have been reserved for the playoff week you have already established.
